2.5 " 36-1 crank wheel, worth the money, $75

 Decided to use a Ford EDIS ignition. Here you see the crank sensor mounted on TB cover.

Extruded aluminum fuel rail, about $25 for 12". Just enough to do the job.

Painted timing marks on cam wheel, on the money. EDIS runs timing at 10 degrees BTDC. Be certain to install trigger wheel and sensor correctly.

  1. Is the trigger wheel OEM part from a ford vehicle or did it need to be custom ordered somewhere. I'm trying to plan out a fuel injection and spark control with a speeduino EFI controller. I'd like to use as many borrowed OEM parts as possible so that there is a supply source if I need to replace anything. Your project looks great. I'm inclined to copy your work on the crank sensor position. Did this build need a cam position sensor and how did you handle that bit?

  2. There an outfit that makes this wheel, out of the UK. No cam sensor needed, but if wanted you could mount on the early models

  3. If you are doing an early wing, you could do a cam sensor at the breaker plate on left head. Since these things turn 8500-9000, not critical for camp sensor. A basic Mega Squirt is really all you need if not running a turbo or supercharger. I did use the relay unit that is available from MS, since you will want the relays. Not and absolute, but just the way I did it. The Micro Squirt would work nicely too, and is a smaller form factor.

  4. Additionally you could use almost any FI setup from the 80's &90's from ford, GM or Chrysler. The MS basic unit is only $200 or so, and uses GM sensors, but is also capable of using most anything you might have. Aside from the throttle bodies, you are looking at about $500-700 for the electronics NEW! I did spring for an INNovate Wide band O2 sensor.In the article, there are two different Throttle bodies. Originally I used the setup from an 84 LTD GL1200. I later changed to the setup made from an old set of carbs. The latter setup looks very stock, most people don't notice they are not carbs. I like the look of the retro'd carbs, rather than the industrial Honda setup.
